Juneau resident Allyn Richard Moore Jr., 38, died June 15, 2006, at his home in Hoonah.

He was born April 6, 1968, in Juneau, to Allyn Cloyd Moore and Linda Edith Karlson. He was a Deisheetaan from the Deishu Hit, a Raven Beaver from the End of the Trail House in Angoon, and a Teikweid yeide. His Tlingit name was Koo Nei Ka.

He attended Juneau schools. He worked as a longshoreman, mechanic, electrician and sales associate for a number of years at his dad's shops in downtown Juneau. He was a Sealaska and Goldbelt shareholder and a member of Tlingit & Haida Indian Tribes of Alaska.

He enjoyed taking things apart and fixing them, repairing cars, camping and fishing. Family members said he was a rugged outdoorsman.

They said, "If anyone was in need of help, Rich would be right there lending a hand or giving them money if needed. Rich had a big heart when it came to children. He always had time for them."

He married Cheryl Lee on Aug. 2, 1997, in Juneau. He moved to Hoonah in 2002 and returned to Juneau in March.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Linda Karlson; stepfather, Eric Karlson Sr.; brothers, Erick Karlson Jr., and Darrell Karlson; sister, Sabrina Karlson; grandparents, Raymond and Annie Esmino; aunt, Johanna Cropley; uncle, Waverley Peterson; and niece, Ericka (Karlson) Johnson.

He is survived by his wife, Cheryl of Hoonah; father, Allyn (Concheita) Moore of Juneau; sisters, Ruby (Mike) Karlson-Schwab, and Karen Orazio of Juneau; brothers, Bruce Karlson and Perry Moore of Juneau; stepsons, Casey Yakovich and Richard Yakovich of Hoonah; stepdaughter, Adrien Lee of Myrtle Creek, Ore.; aunts, Betty Moore of Schenectady, N.Y., Hazel Leland of Guilder land, N.Y., Dorothy Gregory and Kathy White of Juneau; uncle, Earnest Moore of Palas Burdie, Calif.; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. June 21 at the Tlingit & Haida Community Council Building in Juneau. A funeral service will be held at noon June 22 at Alaska Memorial Park on Riverside Drive. A second memorial service will be held in Hoonah on June 23.

The pallbearers are Mike Schwab, John Day Jr., Edward Austin, James Jack Jr., Duane Jack and Tyson Brooks. Honorary Pallbearers are Donald Gregory, Jack Lee, William Lee Jr., Erick Karlson III, Clifford Squartsoff, Andrew Squartsoff Sr., Roy Guerrero Sr., and Alice Bennett.
