Juneau resident Jodine May Meacock, 41, died June 17 at Wildflower Court in Juneau, after a courageous fight with multiple sclerosis.

She was born Feb. 4, 1965, in Sitka, during the 1965 earthquake. She was raised in Sitka and graduated from Sitka High School in 1983. She has been a resident of Juneau for 13 years and was an active member of the First Church of God until she could no longer attend church. According to family members, her devoted church family visited her faithfully, which her family will always cherish.
Her family said, "She was the most inspirational, warm-hearted, giving, optimistic, beautiful woman, sister, daughter, wife and mother. We, her family, were blessed to have her in our lives."
Her mother said, "My awesome daughter, who never complained, gave me strength. I told her she was strong, and she told me that I was strong and she got it from me. She will always be in my heart and missed dearly."
Her father said, "Jody's life was a struggle and she never complained. She touched so many people's lives and cared so much for her family and friends. In these days when heroes are hard to find, I always had Jody."
She is survived by her parents, Joanne and Richard Chartrand; son, Levi (Bettyann Boyd) Harriman of Juneau; daughters, Jessica and Krista Meacock of Goldendale, Wash.; sisters, Glenda (Tim) Drevas of Oak Harbor, Wash., Janet (David Rhule) Harriman of Oregon, Eileen Jones of Juneau, and Tracey Martin of Juneau; brother, Timothy Harriman of Oregon; grandson, Marcus Kaleb Harriman of Juneau; niece, Jamailyn Drevas; nephews, Taylor Drevas of Oak Harbor, and Skylar Harriman of Oregon; grandfather, Harvey Williams Sr., of Sitka; aunts, Esther Liberty of Juneau, Marion (Gary) Berry of Juneau; Walleen (Danny) Whitson of Sitka, Mary Ellen Peterson of Sitka, Paula (Rusty) Kurt of Seattle and Patricia (Jake) Waite of Oak Harbor; uncle, Harvey (Kathy) Williams Jr., of Federal Way, Wash.; and numerous cousins.
She was preceded in death by her father, Glenn A. Harriman; grandparents, Glenn and Syble Harriman; grandmother, Marietta Moy Williams; uncle, George Williams; aunts, Harvietta Olson and Dorothy Trivett; and cousins, Jay Ryan Liberty and Amber Rose Whitson.
A memorial service will be held at 5:30 p.m. June 21 at the Resurrection Lutheran Church, 740 W. 10th St. Her pastor, the Rev. David Swofford from the First Church of God, will preside.
