Here is an opinion submission, with hopefully a perspective on the Montessori issue that has not been explored.
The accepted paradigm seems to be that this is about elitist parents selfishly taking resources from other district mainstream programs and students, and the district protecting those students from these rapacious elitists. My view here is that it is the district that has clearly failed to grow this academically effective program in response to clear parent preference and failed to bring its benefits to a wider range of students.
