As I have suggested in the past (letters to the editor, July 24, 2001) the solution to the Mendenhall Valley-downtown commute is not a light rail system but rather a high-speed roller coaster, complete with zero-G rolls, loop-d-loops and camel backs. It would raise money for the city, some of which could be earmarked for road repair and make the ride home from work invigorating, rather than infuriating.
