FAIRBANKS - Alaska voters will be asked to decide a nearly $400 million bond issue for school-related construction.
Gov. Sean Parnell's signature of the bond package Monday sends the issue to voters in November.
Money would be used for a spate of building projects, including a life sciences center and lab at the University of Alaska Fairbanks and a sports arena at the University of Alaska Anchorage. It also would help fund student housing within the university system, some K-12 school construction and a pool area at Mount Edgecumbe High School.
Parnell also signed a bill establishing a rural school construction fund.
