FAIRBANKS — A 20-year-old Nevada man has died in a mining accident in Alaska.

Jacob Ryan Branham of Spring Creek, Nev., died after his clothing became caught in a piece of moving equipment Monday near Livengood, about 50 miles northwest of Fairbanks.

Alaska State Trooper Megan Peters says Branham was pulled into an industrial drill in the incident.

Foul play is not suspected, but the state medical examiner will perform an autopsy.

The Fairbanks Daily News-Miner says Branham was a drilling helper with AK Drilling, Inc., a Montana-based company contracted through International Tower Hill Mines for exploration work at the site of a large gold prospect.
