KETCHIKAN - A Ketchikan couple has died in a traffic collision in Canada.
Royal Canadian Mounted Police say Don and Lois Kralis were traveling on Highway 16 Saturday when a 79-year-old man in a pickup crossed the center line and crashed into the couple's Subaru about 44 miles east of Terrace, British Columbia.
Police say the couple died at the scene. The truck driver, whose name was not immediately available, was taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Don Kralis was a teacher at Ketchikan High School and Lois Kralis worked in patient finance services at Ketchikan General Hospital.
School principal Sam Nelson says the couple was returning from a visit with relatives when the accident occurred. Their dog, Buddy, was injured in the crash.
