DOTNA - Alaska State Troopers were investigating a rash of burglaries in the Soldotna area that occurred late Friday or early Saturday.

Troopers said the first incident reported was at a motorcycle shop, where a thief shut off the power and cut phone lines before breaking into the building and stealing a safe. The safe had an undisclosed amount of cash inside. A restaurant, grocery store and furniture store in the area also were burglarized at about the same time, using the same methods.
