Melton picks up his fourth hole-in-one

JUNEAU - Stick Melton recorded his fourth hole-in-one on Saturday at Mendenhall Golf Course.

Melton used an eight iron to ace the 119-yard fourth hole.

According to Mendenhall Golf Course's Koggie File, this is the fourth time Melton has aced the fourth hole in his career.

Juneau Riptide finish up Las Vegas tourney

JUNEAU - The Juneau Soccer Club Riptide Under-17 boys soccer team wrapped up play in the U.S. Youth Soccer Far West Region Tournament on Wednesday in Las Vegas.

The reigning Alaska state champions dropped all three games in arguably the tournament's toughest pool. The tournament's two finalists both played in Juneau's flight.

The Riptide opened play Monday with a 5-0 loss to Colorado state champs, Real Colorado National.

On Tuesday, Juneau scored its first goal but fell 3-1 to San Diego Surf White, the California South champions.

Against New Mexico Rush Nike, the New Mexico state champions, Juneau fell 5-1 on Wednesday.

Real Colorado National and San Diego Surf Nike will play for the regional title today.
