JUNEAU - Alaska Attorney General Dan Sullivan will hold a pro bono summit in Juneau on Thursday for attorneys interested in representing victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.
The summit is part of Gov. Sean Parnell's 10-year effort to prevent domestic violence and sexual assault.
Studies have shown that legal representation for victims not only benefits the clients but also results in reduced overall rates of assault going forward in the communities where the services are provided.
A similar summit in Anchorage resulted in 11 lawyers volunteering to provide legal representation to victims.
The summit will be 12-1:15 p.m. Thursday at the Baranof Hotel.
