Southeast Road Runners club -- Mount Juneau Ridge Run: Meet at time TBA (probably about 6:30-7 a.m.) at Perseverance Trailhead parking lot for an adventure run of about 15 miles up Perseverance Trail, up Mount Juneau to its peak, along the ridgeline and back down via Granite Creek and Perseverance Trail. Due to the race distance and trail hazards, participants must be adequately conditioned to participate and should be able to complete a half-marathon (13.1 miles) in under two hours. Gustavus golf clinic for girls -- The Tongass Alaska Girl Scout Council is holding a golf camp in Gustavus with golf pro Suzie Cary. Runner's World columnist speaks -- John "The Penguin" Bingham, who writes a monthly column for Runner's World magazine and is the author of "The Courage to Start: A Guide to Running for Your Life," will speak at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, June 27, at the Valley location of the Juneau Racquet Club. Bingham was a 43-year-old couch potato with the bad habits of smoking and drinking when he started running. Since then he has completed 19 marathons and hundreds of 5K and 10K races. 4-H youth running program Thursday runs -- Meet at 5 p.m. at location TBA each Thursday through the summer. The program is for runners in grades K-5. Over-35 coed competitive soccer scrimmages -- Competitive scrimmages for adults age 35-older will be held from 7-9 p.m. every Wednesday in June at Adair-Kennedy Memorial Park.
