Juneau police, fire officials and state troopers reported:


Police received a report at 10:26 a.m. Monday of the theft of $1,000 in cash and credit card receipts from a store on South Franklin Street.

A woman reported at 2:30 p.m. Monday from Channel Drive that her purse was stolen from her vehicle Sunday.

A man reported at 5:50 p.m. Monday from Distin Avenue the theft of 25 CDs from his unlocked vehicle.

A woman reported at 7:41 p.m. Monday from the Baranof parking lot the theft of her 1991 silver Accord.

Vandalism and criminal mischief:

Police received a report at 8:13 a.m. Monday from Gruening Park of two tires slashed on a vehicle.

Animal encounters:

A bear was reported at 8:16 a.m. Monday in a garbage container near Glacier Highway. Police also received reports of bears at 10:24 p.m. on Glacier Spur Road, 10:53 p.m. and 11:15 p.m. on Threadneedle Street, 11:31 p.m. on Kanat'a Street, and 12:13 a.m. today on Garnet Street.


A man, 30, was cited and released at 1 a.m. today on the Douglas Highway for driving with a revoked license. The vehicle was released to a passenger with a license.

Fish and wildlife troopers cited a Juneau woman, 18, and a Juneau man, 20, Saturday for sport fishing without a valid license. Arraignment is scheduled for Juneau District Court on July 11.
