Yaakoos is for all

In response to Bruce Tenney's letter regarding the Montessori school, I would just like to point out that Yaakoosge Daakahidi, while retaining a Tlingit name, is not, in fact, a Native Alaska school, but is a diverse school for students who have not been successful in the mainstream high school.

If, in fact, the school boasts a larger Native population than most, this is a reflection of the failure of the Juneau public schools to offer appropriate options to the Native community.
