Word of Mouth gives readers a forum to express opinions on a variety of issues by telephone. Calls must be limited to one minute. We reserve the right to edit calls for clarity, length and libel. Callers must leave their name and a number at which they can be contacted (usually between 8 a.m. and noon). On 9 a.m. Tuesday I found myself behind an 18-wheeler headed into Douglas. The truck had rocks the size of my fist bouncing out the back all the way from Lawson Creek through the school zone and into downtown Douglas. Just wanted to say, "Let's be more careful out there please."

I'd like to know if Mr. Palmer and the Assembly will step forward with their own wallets and pay for the lawsuit that should result from the police's inability to act on their policy prompted by Mark Farmer and his fellow zealots that places these fuzzy creature above human life.

As soon as someone's child gets mauled by a mother bear in the city, we will hear a different tune. And this will happen for sure. If someone wants to live in a zoo, they should move to the Bronx (Zoo).
