JUNEAU - The JDHS class of 1990 is slated to hold their 20-year reunion at the end of this week. It's a three-day event with a variety of activities - "a little something for everyone," as they say.
The reunion will kick off on Thursday, July 1 with a welcome reception at the Imperial Saloon from 6-9 p.m., followed by an optional bar crawl.
"This would be a great place to show off any talents you've acquired over the past twenty years; singing, break-dancing, playing the kazoo," said Tyra Smith, one of the organizers of the reunion.
The party will resume Friday night, July 2 with a banquet at the Prospector, complete with a slideshow. Cocktails will be served at 6 p.m. and dinner will be served at 7 p.m. Classmates will have an opportunity to sit with old friends and dine on prawns, bacon wrapped scallops, spanikopita and chocolate-dipped strawberries. There will also be a prize drawing for a helicopter tour for two for those who attend the banquet.
The final event of the reunion will be a family picnic at Sandy Beach on Saturday, July 3 from 2-6 p.m. Hot dogs, hamburgers and hopefully salmon will be dished up on the barbecue for the classmates and their families. Everyone is invited to come enjoy the sunshine.
The three events cost $58 to attend. For more information or to RSVP, contact Deborah Eriksen at firstname.lastname@example.org.
