Don't boycott a great family gathering place

Posted: Thursday, June 28, 2007

I am writing in response to the letter to the editor, "Boycotting pizza chain affects others," dated June 22. I agree with this statement; we should not boycott such a great restaurant chain as Bullwinkle's Pizza Parlor.

Sound off on the important issues at

First of all, I think it is very hypocritical to call someone Dr. Death. Hunting has been a way of life here in Alaska and Africa for many thousands of years. It is like saying we must boycott going to church when there is an act of God we think is unfair or unjust. We must accept things as they come and be human about it. Life is life; it is the cycle of life.

Also, hunting has nothing to do with having a good time at the best restaurant in Juneau -- Bullwinkle's. My family and I, and probably many of the residents in Juneau, have a great time at Bullwinkle's. This restaurant is a family gathering place. It is a safe place to eat and enjoy life.
