Pitcher's duel marks final weekend of regular season

The A's Jackson Lehnhart and the Cardinals' Dylan Johnson engaged in a pitcher's duel in the Gastineau Channel Little League Major Baseball regular-season finale for both teams on Saturday.

The A's got the better of the Cardinals, winning 2-0.

Lehnhart fanned 10 batters and allowed three hits in six innings for the win.

Johnson scattered five hits while striking out six batters in defeat.

For the A's, Duane Cooper hit an RBI double and Shamil Blaisdell added an RBI hit in the win. Lehnhart doubled, Zach Miller and Marc Heifetz each had a hit while Tanner Petrie and Duane Cooper scored for the A's.

Hunter Cameron led the Cardinals' bats with a double. Tod Baseden and Jack Grummett each singled in defeat.


Mariners 16, Phillies 0

The Mariners closed out the regular season on Saturday with a shutout win over the Phillies.

Jeffrey Pusich and Zach Cuddihy combined on a four-inning, one-hit shutout. Pusich struck out seven batters in the win.

Offensively, the M's Derek Brobst and Julian Minne went 3-for-3 with two runs scored each, Ryan Lee and Javier Magallanes had three hits and one run each while Kyle Gould, Christian Gould, R.J. Markovich, Joe Paden, Cuddihy and Pusich all scored in the win.

For the Phillies, Sean Niewoehner doubled in the loss.

Ryan Kelly struck out two batters while Jimmy Diamond and Torsten Fagerstrom pitched for the Phillies.

Angels 12, Phillies 2

Alex Matheson and Ben Bullock combined to give the Angels a win over the Phillies on Thursday.

Braves 11, A's 5

Billy Palmer, Gary Speck and Andrew White all pitched in the Braves' Thursday win over the A's.

Zach Miller, Tanner Petrie and Marc Heifetz took the ball for the A's.

Cardinals 6, Mariners 5

The Cardinals came back in the sixth to beat the Mariners on Wednesday.

Jake Macaulay's RBI single drove in Nick Stewart with the game-winning run in the win. Jackson Pavitt started the Cardinals' rally with a single and later scored on Hunter Cameron's RBI double.

Tod Baseden hit a two-run double, Kurt Vandor had two hits and a run scored, Dylan Johnson singled and scored and Trey Williams stole a base in the win.

Jack Grummett pitched 523 innings, striking out six batters while giving up eight hits in the win. Williams got the final out of the game.

For the Mariners, Kyle Gould hit a solo home run, doubled and scored two runs while Zach Cuddihy and Christian Gould each had RBI hits.

Derek Brobst had two hits, R.J. Markovich singled and scored, Julian Minne scored and Austin Thomas doubled and scored in the loss.


Diamondbacks 15, Dodgers 0

Damon Ludwig fired a complete-game shutout Saturday as the Diamondbacks blanked the Dodgers.

Austin Badger, Blaine Roeber and Bryan Foss all pitched for the Dodgers.

Diamondbacks 12, Rockies 11

Justin Brooks, Zander Hoke and Eddie Hurtte all pitched as the Diamondbacks nipped the Rockies on Thursday.

Miles Bedford, Garrett Cheeseman and McLean Cannon took the ball for the Rockies.
