JDHS graduate recognized as NOAA employee of the year
Marla Wilson Trollan, a 1985 graduate of Juneau-Douglas High School, with a BA from the University of Oregon in 1989, and a MPA from University of Wilmington in 2002, was on Thursday, May 7, recognized as a NOAA Fisheries Service Employee of the Year. In 2008, Trollan was project leader for the National Marketing Campaign, which is designed to unify the agency's diverse portfolio of activities under one common look and set of messages. She worked closely with the agency webmaster and a steering committee to design a Web site for NOAA Fisheries that will be implemented in 2009. Trollan also led the team that developed a National Brochure and regional inserts. In addition, Trollan was involved in the production of several videos in 2008. Her contributions resulted in enhanced public appreciation for the mission of the agency; improved customer service: Increased efficiency and reduced cost of operations; and a strengthened tie to other NOAA elements and NOAA Fisheries constituents.
