Values as well as trike go missing at playground

Someone "borrowed" my son's trike from the Twin Lakes playground on June 17. It's unfortunate Juneau already has to deal with the darker side of human nature at a playground and family space that's been open less than a few weeks.

I'm not referring to kids causing problems. I'm talking about bad parents. It's obvious a kid didn't pack a trike into the trunk of a car and drive away. I feel sorry for the parents who chose to do so and say shame on them.

With all the social service organizations in Juneau, I'm sure they could have gotten a trike somewhere without resorting to stealing from a 3 ½-year-old. Where's their pride and what kind of values are they teaching their kids?
