Douglas church holds barbecue fundraiser

JUNEAU - The Douglas Community United Methodist Church will hold their annual deep pit beef barbecue fundraiser from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday at the corners of Third and E streets (across the Douglas Fire Hall).
Prices for meals are: $12 for adults and youth, age 12 and over; $8 for children 5-11; children 4 and under are free. Barbecue sandwich and chips sack lunches are $6.
Proceeds from the barbecue help fund the church's many programs, such as the Gastineau Elementary School Breakfast Program. For more information, contact Beth at 364-2408 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
'Only Fools Run' needs volunteers Saturday
JUNEAU - "Only Fools Run at Midnight," which takes place at 11:59 p.m. Saturday at Centennial Hall, is in need of volunteers.
Volunteers are needed for set up, registration, clean up and other miscellaneous tasks. Volunteer forms are available on SAIL's Web site, www.sailinc.org/fundraising.php. For more information, call Katy at 586-0104 or the SAIL office at 586-4920.
The 5K or 1-mile run/walk starts and ends at Centennial Hall. Costumes are encouraged. Register at JRC The Alaska Club, Southeast Alaska Independent Living office or online at www.sailinc.org.
Class of 1962 gathers for its 45th reunion
JUNEAU - The Juneau-Douglas High School Class of 1962 will have a dinner gathering at 6 p.m. on Friday, July 6, at the Hangar on the Wharf Ballroom. This event is casual; dress appropriately.
A mailing and e-mail has gone out, but some members and friends of the class are "still missing."
