ANCHORAGE - A Fairbanks woman who created a disturbance aboard a plane has received probation.

Rhoda Kelsey was sentenced in federal court in Anchorage on Monday. She will be required to abstain from alcohol for five years and get alcohol abuse treatment. U.S. District Court Judge H. Russel Holland also ordered her to immediately start four months of inpatient treatment in Fairbanks.

Kelsey was arrested in January and charged with interfering with a flight crew aboard an ERA Aviation flight. Authorities say she went to a lavatory and pounded on the door from the inside when she couldn't locate the toilet paper. She ended up calling a flight attendant a name and hitting her in the face. Passengers restrained Kelsey until she was arrested in Anchorage.
