A man charged with killing another man on Christmas Eve was released on bail Wednesday.
Brock Charles, 38, is charged with second-degree murder for the Dec. 24 beating death of Gordon Rasnick, 50. He was arrested on the charge in March and remained incarcerated on $250,000 bail until June 17.
During a hearing that day, Superior Court Judge Trevor Stephens agreed to accept cash posting of 10 percent of the original amount on the condition that Charles remain with a third-party custodian at all times.
Charles' mother, Louise Charles, was approved as his third-party custodian and will have to supervise her son 24 hours a day, making sure he obeys all laws, stays in Ketchikan, doesn't drink alcohol, has no contact with witnesses and maintains an 8 p.m. to 7 a.m. curfew. Brock Charles' trial is scheduled for Nov. 12 in Ketchikan Superior Court.
