Juneau police, fire officials and state troopers reported:


• A man reported at 8:30 p.m. Monday that his residence, near Fifth Street downtown, was broken into and items were taken. Value of the items was unknown.

• A woman reported at 10:14 p.m. Monday that her residence near Mark Allen Street in Lemon Creek was burglarized. About $50 to $100 reportedly was stolen.


• A camouflage-pattern purse was reported stolen at 2:19 p.m. Monday near Glacier Highway. The purse reportedly contained two compact discs, identification and paperwork.

• Police arrested a man, 47, on a theft charge at 6:57 p.m. Monday after responding to a shoplifting call near Glacier Highway. They lodged the man at the Lemon Creek Correctional Center.

Vehicle rifling:

• A wallet was reported stolen at 1:17 p.m. Monday from an unlocked vehicle near West 11th Street. The wallet reportedly contained identification and paperwork.

• At 7:09 a.m. Wednesday, a silver and purple car stereo with a CD player was reported stolen overnight from an unlocked pickup truck parked near Glacier Highway.

• At 9:33 a.m. Tuesday, a Jeep Cherokee and Subaru, both unlocked, were reportedly rifled overnight near Aurora Drive near the airport. Nothing was reported stolen.


• A window was reported broken at 2:29 p.m. Monday at a residence near Montana Creek Road in the Mendenhall Valley.

• Shortly after midnight Tuesday, a house near Center Court in the Valley was reported pelted with eggs.

Vehicle accident:

• A woman, 75, was cited on a charge of failing to avoid an accident after the 1992 Lincoln Towncar she was driving struck three parked vehicles at 2:24 p.m. Monday on Douglas Highway. A1991 Ford Explorer sustained an estimated $500 to $,1000. A 1985 Ford pickup, a 1991 Honda Civic and the Lincoln reportedly were totaled.

• At 4:22 p.m. Monday, a 2001 Dodge Ram, operated by a man, 59, reportedly struck a retaining wall at Glacier Highway. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $4,000. The wall apparently was undamaged.

Hit and run:

• A man reported at 7:24 p.m. Monday that an unknown vehicle struck his 1996 Subaru in a parking lot near Glacier Highway. No damage estimate was available.

Underage drinking:

• Police cited a boy, 17 on a charge of underage drinking at 9:01 p.m. Monday near Mendenhall Mall Road.

Lost property:

• A black purse was reported lost at 11:58 p.m. Monday near Hospital Drive.

Found property:

• A women's Magna 18-speed bicycle was turned over to police at 6:31 p.m. Monday, after it was reportedly found near Mendenhall Loop Road and Taku Boulevard.

Animal encounters:

• A bear was reported wandering at 9:02 a.m. Tuesday in the area of Kanat'a Street in the Valley.

Crime Line

During the June 6 Artist Market at Centennial Hall, police received a report that a bracelet was stolen.

Measuring 7 inches by 1 inch, the 14-karat gold love bird bracelet was valued at $2,500. It reportedly was stolen from the Egan Room between noon and 1 p.m.
