A Juneau resident for 39 years, Mark Steven Stoinich died June 23, 2009. He was 51.
He was born Oct. 7, 1957 in Sacramento, Calif. He attended Juneau-Douglas High School and worked in construction.
He was an avid bowler and loved golfing, photography, hiking and traveling.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Al and Rita Stoinich, of Juneau.
He is survived by his sister, Scooter Edge, of Juneau; his brothers, Tony Stoinich, of Juneau and Mick Stoinich, of Seattle, Wash.; his nieces and nephews, Brandon and Conner Edge of Juneau, and Alasa and Amanda Stoinich of Iowa, and his beloved dog "Buddy."
There will be a viewing today from 3 to 5 p.m. at Alaska Mortuary on Riverside Dr. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date to be announced.
