FAIRBANKS - A spokeswoman for the University of Alaska Museum of the North in Fairbanks says a decision on a new director should be made in a few weeks.

Kerynn Fisher says the job has been offered to an applicant. She oversaw fundraising for a $42 million expansion, which was completed in 2006.

She announced last year that she would retire.
