To the people in a panic about the new bear policy: Calm down and use your head for something besides growing hair. More people are hurt by large aggressive dogs than bears, but I don't hear anyone complaining about them.
I'd like to offer my support to Mark Farmer and his "zealots." Farmer did not place these fuzzy creatures above human life. All Farmer has asked is that Juneau residents be responsible with their garbage and quit living in a dump and start living in a home.
To the gentlemen who commented that people should move to the Bronx if we wanted to live in a zoo. Sir, you need to remember that you live in bear country and we need to educate our children and everyone around us on how to be respectful to the bears. That means not causing them to be aggressive.
