Man dies after wind blows plane into trees

PALMER - A Palmer man died Sunday after his plane was blown into some trees.

Robert Gilmore was attempting to land at a private runway in Palmer, Alaska State Troopers said. His passenger, 24-year-old Deborah Molsberry of Bellingham, Wash., sustained minor injuries.

The 55-year-old pilot was headed for the airstrip when a sudden gust of wind caught the aircraft, which then crashed into the trees, Troopers said. Gilmore was found dead at the scene.
