Arlene K. Moe arraignment scheduled for Thursday
JUNEAU - A 51-year-old Juneau woman accused of stealing more than $40,000 from Gastineau Channel Little League has moved to Anchorage.
Arlene K. Moe attended a court hearing by phone with Superior Court Judge Patricia Collins on Tuesday morning requesting court appointed council for felony theft and check forgery charges. Collins granted the request and set the arraignment for 8:45 a.m. on Thursday at the Dimond Court House.
According to the Juneau Police Department, Moe wrote herself unauthorized checks totaling $40,660.33 on at least 57 occasions between August 2007 and September 2008 using the Little League's First National Bank account. She had held a board seat with the league.
Moe faces up to 15 years in prison if convicted.
