She was born in Los Angeles, to Maurice and Ardis Bleeker. She graduated from Lynwood High School in Lynwood, Calif., and after many years of working several jobs, from work in electronic harnessing and florist assisting to working as a rotary mechanic, she realized her dream of one day moving to Alaska. She arrived in Juneau in July of 1985 and settled into her niche, first as a baker and ultimately as a housekeeper for Bartlett Regional Hospital, where she remained until her retirement.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Maurice and Ardis Bleeker; and a sister, Joyce Wallace.
She is survived by her partner, Barbara Isbell; housemate, Beverly Adams; sister, Gloria Ienni and her husband, Nick, of Downey, Calif.; brother, Gary Bleeker, of Sacramento, Calif.; nephews, David Henderson, of Washington, Mo.; Warren Henderson, of Sarasota, Fla.; and Stefano Ienni of Downey.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
