102nd Douglas Island Fourth of July festivities: Activities include children's track and field events at 2 p.m. at Savikko Park, the Douglas 2-Mile Run starts at 2:30 p.m. at the intersection of Douglas and North Douglas highways with a finish at the Douglas Fire Station, and a softball game between Juneau Firemen and Douglas Firemen at 7 p.m. at Savikko Park, among other events. 2000 Governor's Cup 5K Fun Run/Walk: Race starts 9 a.m. at corner of Fourth and Main (at the Court House Building) and finishes near the Hospice and Home Care offices near Bartlett Regional Hospital. Race is one way, so arrange for a ride at the finish line. Some sweats will be taken from the start to the finish line. Juneau Sailing Club's 2000 Rum Cup Challenge: Round two of a four-round series, and sailboats must complete at least four of the eight legs to qualify for the overall trophy. Race leaves Juneau for Admiralty Cove on Saturday and returns on Sunday. Skippers meet 8 a.m. at Juneau Harbormaster's Office at Aurora Harbor. Introduction to shotgun clinic for women: National Rifle Association-certified instructor Tammy Kramer will introduce women to the shotgun and firearms safety.
