Assaults:
A 40-year-old man was arrested for domestic violence assault at 9:48 p.m. Monday in the Mendenhall Valley. He was taken to the Lemon Creek Correctional Center.
Thefts:
A man called at 8:10 a.m. Monday to report $5 to $10 in change was stolen from his unlocked vehicle on Sitka Street sometime overnight.
A woman called at 11:28 a.m. Monday to report three bottles of prescription narcotics had been stolen from her unlocked vehicle in the Big Kmart parking lot. The theft occurred at about 3:30 p.m. Saturday afternoon.
A woman called at 11:47 a.m. Monday to report a Kenwood stereo and 120 CDs stolen from her locked vehicle on Northwood Drive in Lemon Creek. The stereo was valued at $800, the CDs at $1,000.
A chrome and gray BMX bicycle with front and rear pegs on the right side was reported stolen from a bike rack at Mendenhall Mall at 12:25 p.m. Monday. The estimated value was $388.
A black BMX bicycle was reported stolen from the Mendenhall Mall area at 12:25 p.m. Monday.
Animal encounters:
Bears were reported on Kodzoff I at 11:24 p.m. Monday, on Park Place at 11:53 p.m. Monday and by the Auke Bay Boat Harbor at 12:08 a.m. today.
