Three get aces at Hole-in-One Contest

Three Juneau golfers scored holes-in-one last weekend during the 25th annual Juneau Golf Club Hole-in-One Contest, held at Vintage Park.

Ken Maas, Mark Notar and Ted Quinn scored the aces, and each will receive a round-trip ticket on Alaska Airlines. Women's grand prize winner Shelly Mangusso will also receive an Alaska Airlines round-trip ticket.

Nearly 200 golfers participated in this year's contest, firing almost 5,000 shots over the two days.

Other winners, and the prizes they received, are:


1st place: Bill Nash, $100 Parts Plus/Valley Auto Supply gift certificate.

2nd: Doug Belknap, $50 cash donated by Capitol Arms.

3rd: Roger Tersteeg, $25 cash donated by the Triangle Club.


1st: Jennifer Schmitz, $100 cash donated by Reliable Sheet Metal.

2nd: Tracy Sisterman, $50 Super Bear gift certificate.

3rd: Cindy Schlaffman, $25 gift certificate (anonymous donation).


1st: Steve Shin, Nakota Drill donated by Valley Lumber and Building Supply.

2nd: Richard Green, $50 cash donated by the Driftwood Lodge.

3rd: Jeff Shin, golf shirt donated by Sealaska Corp.


1st: Lori Barnett, $100 cash donated by Jack's Plumbing and Heating.

2nd: Cindy Schlaffman, $50 Super Bear gift certificate.

3rd: Sandi Krook, wind vest donated by Nugget Alaskan Outfitter.


Ryan Beason, Calloway golf club donated by Rod Almlie.

Emily Nash, $25 gift certificate (anonymous donation).
