WASILLA - Authorities say a Wasilla man drowned when his boat capsized in Finger Lake after it was loaded for an overnight camping trip.

A dive team recovered the body of 29-year-old Jason Covey about 20 feet from the shore Saturday morning.

State officials say bystanders had rescued two others in the boat, including a 7-year-old, shortly after the boat went under, at about 1:30 a.m.

Divers looked for Covey early in the morning, reporting zero visibility. They resumed after daylight and found the body about 11:30 a.m.

Investigators say they found no personal flotation devices in the 8-foot boat or on the two men and the child.
