Clothe your children well

Letter to the editor

Society is tough enough having to deal with these kids that aren't getting proper discipline. I think that the girls running around with pants halfway down their crack like cats in heat is, or should be, demeaning; and if it isn't to them it is to others. What is it with our society nowadays?

I hope when my daughter is a teenager she won't be advertising herself. I'm really frightened. What has telling your daughter to go put on the right kind of clothes have to do with imposing on their values? It is our job to teach them the right kinds of values - as our parents taught us. What kind of values are we imposing on them when we try and teach them to do the right things in life? Don't parents care about their children anymore, or do they show it by letting them do what they want and getting it over with?

Please, parents, teach your kids at a young age. It's almost like a good society gone bad. I don't spank my kids, but I firmly believe that there is some truth to the spare-the-rod, spoil-the-child lesson in the Bible.
