Hospital reopens gift shop

A public reception to celebrate the grand opening of The Bazaar at Bartlett will be held Monday from 4:30-6:00 p.m. The Bazaar is an expansion of the hospital's previous gift shop, and offers a wider selection of merchandise and increased hours. The Hospital Guild ran the store previously, and the reception particularly recognizes their past and present members.

Shrine hosts spirit talks

A short talk about St. Benedict, the beginning of the monastic lifestyle and life as a layperson observing the Benedictine rule of life will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel at the Shrine of St. Therese. Another speaker will briefly address Carmelite spirituality.

Wildflowers program for kids

Forest Service Naturalist Erika Carls will present ``Wild For Wildflowers'' from 11 a.m. noon on July 15 at the Mendenhall Glacier Visitor Center. Carls will teach children how to identify local wildflowers, and how to make a simple plant press to press some flowers. Children ages 7-12 are invited to attend; children under 7 are welcome with adult supervision. Call Jessica Schalkowski or Karen Lechner at 789-6640 for more information.
