Jones, Potter to marry July 15
Lucy Jones and Steve Potter, both of Juneau, will be married in a ceremony planned for 2 p.m. July 15 at the Cathedral of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary. A reception will follow at 3:30 p.m. in the Cathedral Parish Hall.
Friends and relatives of the couple are invited to the wedding and reception.
The bride-elect is the daughter of Jerry and Sharon Jones. She is a graduate of Juneau-Douglas High School and is an elementary school teacher for the Juneau School District.
The groom-elect is the son of Bill and Barbara Potter. He is a graduate of JDHS and is employed as a secondary school teacher for the Juneau School District.
The matron of honor will be Ami Cooper, with bridesmaids Donna Peterson, Rachel LeMon and Tina Lee. The flower girl will be Emily Winters.
The best man will be Eric Weeks, with groomsmen Kevin Casperson, Eric Holst and George Houston.
The ushers will be Mike Jones and Luke Jones. The ring bearers will be Sheldon Berg and Logan Jones.
The couple will honeymoon on a Mediterranean cruise and make their home in Juneau.
Devine, Acres to marry July 29
Betty Jo Devine of Lake Oswego, Ore., and Gregory Ives Acres of Lubbock, Texas, will be married in a ceremony at 4 p.m. July 29 on Whidbey Island, Wash. A reception will follow at 5 p.m. on the island.
Friends and relatives of the couple are invited to the wedding and reception. A Juneau reception is planned in August.
The bride-elect is the daughter of Charles and Ruth Devine. She is an associate professor of English at the University of Alaska Southeast.
The groom-elect is the son of Penney Baldwin and the late Charles Acres. He is a certified nurse's aide for St. Ann's Care Center.
The couple will make their home in Juneau.
