Moderate earthquake hits area near Adak

FAIRBANKS - A magnitude 5.4 earthquake was reported Monday in the Andreanof Islands region of Alaska.

The Alaska Earthquake Information Center says the quake was centered about 25 miles southwest of Adak, where there have been reports of it being felt.

The center says, however, there's been no report of damage from the earthquake, which occurred just before 3 p.m.
