FAIRBANKS - A grand jury indicted a Fairbanks man accused of sexually assaulting a woman more than three years ago.
Fairbanks police Detective Peyton Merideth says Carlos Davis' DNA was entered into a database last year after he was convicted on a felony drug charge. It matched DNA collected in February 2007, when a woman said she was raped at a party.
Merideth says partygoers were uncooperative with investigators, so the DNA evidence was vital.
The 20-year-old Davis is charged with first-degree sexual assault.
