The 25-year-old victim was taken to Bartlett Regional Hospital for treatment. She suffered lacerations to her head, shoulders and arm, Sgt. Tom Bates said.

Ida Sheakley, 19, was arrested on charges of second-degree and third-degree assault. Sheakley was lodged at Lemon Creek Correctional Center without bail, police said.

Authorities received a 911 call at 5:24 a.m. about a fight on the balcony of a hotel on Willoughby Avenue. They said Sheakley grabbed a knife and attacked the victim after being told to leave. A second person intervened and was not hurt.

Alcohol was a factor in the incident, police said.
