City proposes changes in taxi fares

JUNEAU - The city manager's office is proposing to change taxi fares in Juneau to allow a 75 cent per minute charge for stopped cabs or those traveling at less than 12 mph.
Juneau's taxi cab owners recently asked the city to allow them to charge for idling time to help offset high fuel prices.
The public has until Aug. 4 to comment on the proposal before the Juneau Assembly takes a look at the issue.
