FAIRBANKS - Gov. Sarah Palin plans to appoint two Fairbanks judges before she leaves office July 26.
The Alaska Judicial Council nominated a list of finalists for vacant spots on the Fairbanks Superior Court and Fairbanks District Court in mid-June.
The governor has 45 days to choose someone from those lists, putting the deadline just after Palin's last day of work.
Frank Bailey, the governor's director of boards and commissions, says he's not certain when the announcement will come, but Palin will make the picks.
