JUNEAU - The American Cancer society will host the "Relay for Life," a 24-hour, two-day event that will raise money for cancer research.
This event will begin at noon on Saturday, July 10 and end at noon on Sunday, July 11 at Dimond Park Fieldhouse. Teams will "camp out" at the field house and take turns walking or running around the track. Each team is asked to have a representative on the track at all times during the event. Because cancer never sleeps, this relays is an overnight event.
The American Cancer Society describes the "Relay For Life" as a "life-changing event that gives everyone in communities across the globe a chance to celebrate the lives of people who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and fight back against the disease."
Games, music, themed laps, silent auction and entertainment are also planned.
To register, go online to www.relayforlifeofjuneau.org or call Johna at 860-287-7507.
