JUNEAU - The five-member board that will redraw Alaska's legislative districts is nearly complete.
House Speaker Mike Chenault announced Thursday that he'd chosen former state Rep. Jim Holm of Fairbanks. Holm will join former state Sen. John Torgerson of Soldotna and commercial pilot Albert Clough of Douglas, who were appointed last month by Gov. Sean Parnell, and Robert "Bob" Brodie, a former mayor of Kodiak chosen by Senate President Gary Stevens.
An appointment by Alaska Supreme Court Chief Justice Walter Carpeneti is pending.
The board will be charged with redrawing state House and Senate boundaries based on results of the 2010 census. Parnell's office has said the first legislative elections held under the new boundaries will be in 2012.
