Missing Fairbanks man found dead

FAIRBANKS - Alaska State Troopers say a Fairbanks man reported missing last month has been found dead.

Trooper spokeswoman Megan Peters says foul play is not suspected in the death of Frank Brooks, whose body was found near the Elliott Highway. Autopsy results are pending.

The 55-year-old was last seen June 8, when he used a credit card at the Fox General Store.

Brooks worked as a union laborer during construction of the trans-Alaska oil pipeline. He was a freelance carpenter in more recent years.
