The Midnight Suns brought two teams to a 12-and-under softball tournament in Sitka this weekend.
Neither squad has been able to figure out the MacDonald's Clothing squad from Sitka thus far.
The Suns, divided into Blue and White teams, both fell to MacDonald's and face an uphill climb to the championships.
The White squad fell 9-1 to MacDonald's Saturday in a winner's bracket contest.
"They battled throughout the game," Suns manager Mike Mauseth said. "They were getting hits and running hard the whole game. That's all you can ask."
Keaunna Miller scored the White squad's lone run.
Miller, Chandler Christensen, Malin Murray, Colby Nore and Kelsey Monagle all had hits for the White team.
After going 1-1 in Friday's pool play, the White team opened Saturday's action with a 13-5 win over Theobroma from Sitka.
Miller fired a one-hitter to pace the White team.
Miller also tripled in the win while Savana Petrie and Amanda Gile each recorded unassisted double plays.
The Midnight Suns' Blue team also went 1-1 in Friday's pool play and opened Saturday's action with a win, topping Sitka's Videl Video 9-7.
Marissa White struck out seven in a complete game victory.
Offensively, White hit an RBI double while Alea Uddipa made a game-saving catch in the fifth inning.
The Blue team led by three in the fifth when Videl Video got two runners on base with one out. Uddipa, however, stymied the rally by making a running catch in the outfield to limit the opposition to just one run.
"She basically preserved the win for us," Mauseth said.
In the second game, the Blue fell to MacDonald's 6-2.
White allowed only one hit and struck out eight to take the tough-luck loss.
Jazmin Cuanzon and Kyra Uddipa both singled and scored while Kyelisa Graham added an RBI single.
Both teams continue play today in Sitka.
