Juneau police, fire officials and state troopers reported:

Driving while intoxicated:

About 11:30 p.m. Monday, Craig Klawitter, 38, was arrested at the Breakwater Inn for driving while intoxicated. He was also charged with reckless endangerment and transported to the Lemon Creek Correctional Center. His vehicle was impounded.

Thefts, lost/found items:

About noon on Monday, a man, 34, reported finding a black Gallant bicycle in his front yard on Julep Street. He will retain the bike until the owner identifies it.

About 4 p.m. Monday, a man, 24, was arrested at Glacier Restaurant for theft of services and sixth-degree misconduct involving a controlled substance. He was lodged at state prison.

About 8 p.m. Monday, a woman, 57, reported her black purse stolen from Northstar Hot Tubs. Her purse contained $80 in cash.


Shortly before 11 p.m. Monday, a man, 24, was arrested in the Mendenhall Valley for domestic violence assault and trespassing. He was transported to state prison.

Vehicle accidents:

About 5 p.m. Monday, police responded to a two-vehicle accident near the intersection of Whittier Street and Egan Drive. A woman, 52, operating a 1998 Ford van struck a 1990 Honda Accord operated by a woman, 39. The van sustained about $7,500 damage. The Honda sustained about $6,000 damage. Neither operator was injured.


About 8:30 a.m. Monday, a woman, 39, reported her vehicle was hit by another while parked at Amalga Harbor, causing about $500 damage.


About 8 a.m. Monday, a man, 64, reported his vehicle was vandalized while parked at Sunshine Cove Place. The driver's door window and side view mirror were broken, causing about $500 damage.

About 2 p.m. Monday, a man, 43, reported someone had attempted to enter his vehicle parked on Taku Boulevard sometime over the past two days. The vehicle sustained about $300 damage.

Minutes before midnight Monday, a man, 22, reported that his mailbox on O'Day Drive exploded.

Animal encounters:

About 7 a.m. Monday, police received a report of a bear in the area of Lund Street.

Shortly before 8 a.m. Monday, police received a complaint of a small bear in a Fifth Street yard.

About 3 p.m. Monday, police received a report of a small black bear in the area across from Taku Smokeries.

About 10:30 p.m. Monday, police received a report of a bear getting into garbage on Pioneer Avenue. The bear then went into the woods.

Minutes before midnight Monday, a bear was seen in the area of a Lemon Creek trailer court.

Warrant arrests:

About 11:30 a.m. Monday, police arrested a woman, 18, on an outstanding Alaska State Troopers warrant for failure to comply with conditions of probation. She was transported to and lodged at state prison.


Shortly before 7 p.m. Monday, a man, 44, was placed under citizen's arrest at the Glory Hole for two counts of harassment. He was transported to and lodged at state prison.

Minor consuming:

About 2:30 a.m. today, police arrested a man, 19, at Sandy Beach for minor consuming of alcohol. He was then released.


Shortly after 10 a.m. Monday, a man, 44, was cited at the Marine Park parking garage for failing to register as a convicted sex offender. He was released at the scene.

About 3 p.m. Monday, a man, 44, was arrested in a Mendenhall Valley parking lot for driving without a valid operator's license. He was released at the scene.
