Anchorage ceremony to honor Korean War veterans

The

Capt. James G. Lee Memorial Post 1685 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States invites citizens to join with members of veterans organizations in Alaska in honoring all those who served during the Korean War. The 50th anniversary of the signing of an armistice will be commemorated by a one-hour memorial service at 1 p.m. on July 27, at the Anchorage Veterans Memorial, Ninth Avenue and I Street.

Those attending will have the opportunity to view a display commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Korean War. "The Forgotten War" display will be open from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. on July 27. "Buddy Poppies" will be available. For more information, call (907) 562-1685.
