Juneau residents need to go out, vote

Posted: Wednesday, July 11, 2007

Juneauites continue to complain about "Capital Creep." Yet we only seem to want the oil dollars that fund government jobs and the economy to be here, and not the responsibility of government itself. Democracy is predicated on voting, yet just 21 percent of Juneau voters went to the polls in the most recent election, and just 38 percent in the election before that. Why do we expect the government to stay here if we won't participate in the most basic part of government - voting?
