Animal complaints:

Sound off on the important issues at

• At 10:01 p.m. Monday, a sow and two cubs were reported on Alder Street.

• At 10:36 p.m. Monday, a bear was reported in the 8500 block of Jennifer Drive.

• At 12:20 a.m. Tuesday, a bear was reported on Valley Boulevard.


• At 10:21 p.m. Monday, a 57-year-old man was placed under citizen's arrest in the 6500 block of Glacier Highway. He was lodged at Lemon Creek Correctional Center on a charge of assault. Alcohol was involved.


• At 3:42 p.m. Monday, a 1992 bus driven by a 45-year-old man struck a 1992 Honda on Salmon Creek Lane. The driver of the Honda left, and the bus had $100 in damage.


• At 1:24 p.m. Monday, a woman reported the theft of a black purse with a Sony cell phone, various cards and ID in the 200 block of Front Street.

• At 4:21 p.m. Monday, a 29-year-old man was arrested on a charge of theft in the 200 block of Franklin Street. He was lodged at the state prison. Alcohol was involved.

• At 4:26 p.m. Monday, a black backpack, a video camera, digital camera and cell phone were reported stolen in the 2400 block of Mendenhall Loop Road.

• At 5:12 p.m. Monday, an 18-year-old woman and a 15-year-old girl were cited and released on charges of concealment of merchandise in the 400 block of Franklin Street.

Traffic accident:

• At 8:30 p.m. Monday, a 2004 Chevrolet Malibu, driven by a 21-year-old woman, was struck by a 2004 Ford van, driven by a 23-year-old man, on Vanderbilt Hill Road. The Chevrolet had $2,000 in damage, and the van had $250.
