FAIRBANKS - Alaska State Troopers said no charges will be filed against a 16-year-old driver involved last summer in a fatal collision with a bicyclist.
The Aug. 1 accident claimed the life of Steven B. Lilley, 33, of Fairbanks.
Troopers said Lilley rode his bike against a "Do Not Cross" symbol when he was struck by the boy's vehicle. The car had continued through the intersection and still had a yellow light.
The District Attorney's office declined to file criminal charges in the case.
A breath sample provided by the teen shortly following the crash was negative for alcohol.
Troopers said toxicology results for Lilley showed a blood-alcohol content of 0.282 percent, nearly four times the legal limit for operating a motor vehicle in Alaska.
